Brightwater's Charities of Choice 2008

Brightwater Group are delighted to be involved with the following charities in 2008:

  • Irish Guide dogs for the blind.
  • Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.
  • Irish Cancer Society.
  • Funds4PIPS.

Brightwater Group organise Christmas collections, quiz nights, Wendy & Dolores hour's donations, appeals and corporate donations. We also support and sponsor many of our Client's charity events. Our chosen charities are currently:


Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind is dedicated to providing high quality mobility training and aftercare services to visually impaired and blind people. Their programmes include guide dog, long cane, independent living skills and child mobility. Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind was the first organisation in Europe to introduce an Assistance Dogs Programme for families of children with autism. All services are provided free of charge. Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind raise 80% of its annual income from fundraising and voluntary donations.

Saint Vincent de Paul is a voluntary organisation dedicated to tackling poverty and disadvantage by providing practical assistance to those in need. The society has extensive experience working with a diverse range of people who experience poverty and exclusion. Through a network of 9,500 volunteers in Ireland, it is strongly committed to working for social justice and advocates the creation of a more just and caring society.

The mission of the Irish Cancer Society is to play a vital role in achieving world class cancer services in Ireland, to ensure fewer people get cancer and those that do have better outcomes. Goals are focused around prevention, survival and quality of life with 3 programme areas to achieve them; advocacy, cancer services and research.

PIPS is a registered charity involved in suicide prevention. They assist those affected by suicide, attempted suicide and self harm. PIPS have set up a call-in centre to provide facilities for listening, counselling, therapy and training. They also carry out home visits to affected households within 24-48 hours in a crisis.
