With a highly driven home-grown talent pool taken directly from the universities, Belfast is a prime location of choice for organisations looking to take advantage of an English speaking centre with relatively low operating costs. In recent years, the city has transformed itself beyond recognition. The development of the Quarters – Linen, Cathedral and Titanic amongst others has really set the city apart and created a terrific atmosphere. The advent of Brexit, although while presenting some obstacles will do nothing to stop the city’s relentless march forward.
As the city becomes more diverse, it has developed an international flair whilst still enjoying a “small town” feel to it. It’s still small enough to be able to walk or take a short bus ride the majority of places. The boutiques on Lisburn Road and the high street retailers in Victoria Square and CastleCourt really help drive the footfall of consumers and create a vibrant atmosphere. Monday to Fridays see the lunchtime locations hopping while from Thursday to Saturday night, the city comes alive. One of the most memorable nights in MTV Awards history took place in the city a few years ago and that really cemented Belfast as a place for young people to live and work. Throw in the chance to mingle with a few cast members from the popular HBO series Game of Thrones and Belfast is now starting to look really good!
Whatever about the social aspect of living here, Belfast is really a hot spot for career minded professionals at all levels. With all of the new companies setting up, the city is now enticing people back home to the region to work, stemming the tide of emigration that occurred for so long. At Brightwater we’ve seen a 20% rise in job registrations in the first month of 2017 compared to January 2016 across all our professional disciplines.
