Health & Safety Officer job in Belfast. Due to continued success and expansion, our client has an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety Officer to join the team on a permanent basis.

The Company:

Our client operates from four sites in Northern Ireland and is a leading company in their field, operating in an Engineering / Manufacturing environment. Primarily based out of the Belfast facility, the Health & Safety Officer job will require the successful candidate to undertake regular visits and audits throughout other sites located in Northern Ireland.

The Role:

The Health and Safety Officer Job will have the following duties: • Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, internal communications, rules and regulations are regularly reviewed, updated and adhered too. • Record, investigate and report all incidents in accordance with external reporting requirements and liaise with external organisations where appropriate. • Co-ordinate all aspects of ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 including internal audit programmes and corrective actions. Lead external audit days and implement action plans and improvements throughout the business. • Satisfy all external customer requests for HSE Documentation including risk assessments, method statements, and near miss reports. • Deliver company and safety induction training to new and existing members of staff and also to the company’s customers where appropriate.

The Person:

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be an established Health & Safety officer in an existing engineering / manufacturing / construction type environment and will be looking for the next challenge in their career. Self-starting and motivated, applicants will also need to satisfy the following: Essential Criteria: • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Health & Safety Officer. • Experience from a construction / manufacturing / engineering back ground preferred. • NEBOSH registered and certified. • Experience of providing induction training and ongoing staff training in Health & Safety matters. • Excellent communication skills to all level of the organisation. • Must be IT literate in MS Office packages. • Team player and ability to influence team members at all levels of the organisation in a positive way.

The Rewards:

Salary of £28,000 - £32,000 is available for successful candidates depending on experience, together with Company Pension, and additional benefits package.
