  • Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies and plans that drive compelling campaigns using the entire spectrum of communication and marketing disciplines including, media and public relations, marketing, event management, internal and external communications (websites, intranet and social media development) brand marketing and business research and insight
  • Inspire, lead and manage the Marketing and Communications Team, creating a positive and results oriented team culture that delivers results
  • Assist in the development and delivery of a Marketing and Communications Strategy and Digital Inclusion Action Plan
  • Develop, manage and co-ordinate an annual marketing and communications programme which supports the strategic goals of the business
  • Report on the effectiveness and return on investment of campaigns using analytics and marketing metrics
  • Oversee the highest quality production, design and publication of key corporate publications
  • Ensure that all staff and partners adhere to branding guidelines
  • Build positive relationships with senior leaders, key teams and departments across the organisation to source content, ensure buy-in to internal communication processes and enhance two-way internal communications
  • Co-ordinate press releases, official openings and other public relations opportunities
  • Support business partnering events which may be held from time to time during and outside normal office hours
  • Work closely with managers, to promote and deliver PR and marketing campaigns
  • Proactively source, plan and write award submissions on behalf of the organisation
  • Take the lead in managing and delivering research projects, from scoping through to methodology and report writing
  • Monitor industry trends, conduct market research and translate insights into reports and actionable recommendations to support senior management decision making in relation to business change initiatives and programmes
  • Review the research that others have done and what outcomes they have achieved to inform the decision-making process on direction to take
  • Essential Criteria

  • Level six qualification (e.g. bachelor’s degree) or above in a related discipline such as Marketing, Communications or Business Management OR 5 years’ experience (gained in the last 7 years) in a similar role
  • Demonstrate experience of developing and executing innovative and creative marketing and communications plans, campaigns and projects for a wide range of audiences, including internal and external customers
  • At least two years’ experience of managing staff which should include directing and delegating work to meet team and organisational objectives
  • Excellent level of IT literacy with proven experience of using various platforms for delivering company/business presentations
  • Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle as travel to other venues will be required
